An e-book, or electronic book, is the digital and virtual version of the paper book. In essence, the content of the paper book is no longer printed on paper pages, but is memorized in a digital “file”, suitably formatted and ready to be loaded and read using tools that display it. Formatting determines the format of the electronic book and therefore the type of file (PDF, EPUB, Mobipocket, TXT, etc.) and the tools for reading it are either the traditional ones, PC, MAC or the more modern and dedicated E-Book Readers or even SmartPhones or iPads.
